"The love of a Father is central to what a child learns. The love of a father affects every relationship and interaction that follows. A Father’s love is vitally important and it is the starting point of our understanding of God’s love. How a father interacts and cares for his family and demonstrates love is but a taste of God’s love for us. The more purely that love can demonstrated, the greater the reflection and understanding of God’s love."
While Winston and I were dating we talked about having children and our plans for the future. We both agreed that we wanted a large family with 3 or 4 children. Thankfully God had children in his plans for us too. I always knew that Winston would be a good daddy. I knew that he would love our baby and care for her and provide for her. Since Taylor has been born I've seen a whole new side of Winston that I didn't know existed before. He is not a good daddy. He is an AWESOME daddy! He is so hands on. He loves to watch Taylor, play with her, read to her, talk to her, snuggle with her. He changes dirty diapers with a smile on his face. He helps with bath time and feeds her whenever he gets a chance. He loves to show her off to his friends. His face lights up when he talks about her. The daycare that Taylor will go to in August had to be on his way to work because he wants to take her every morning. He wants to start his day with his little angel. I am thankful that God blessed me with such an awesome partner in the parenting game. And I'm so truly thankful that God gave Taylor such a loving Daddy. I wish everyone understood the importance a Daddy plays in the role of their children. I remember reading the passage above in a devotional years ago. When I finished reading it I thought, "I want my children to have a father who fits this mold." Guess what? I've got him and so does Taybaby!
